Your Pain
Your face, it's full of sorrow.
Your eyes, they tell a story of grief.
Your lips, though they may smile and laugh,
They betray the pain that you have hidden away.
You're really hurting, aren't you?
I can feel it whenever I am near you.
I can feel your pain, that sense of loss.
I can feel the empty space left by your lover.
My heart grows heavy knowing you're so sad.
How could someone be so cruel?
You wish to be happy again, that much is clear.
You'd like to forget that it ever happened.
You've probably thought that no one could ever feel this way,
That no one understands what your broken heart feels like.
But I do...
I've been down this road before.
I've felt sorrow and grief, depression and despair.
I've met them all, I've been haunted by their memories.
More times than I would ever like to admit.
I know how you feel...
I wish I could comfort you, and hold you in my arms.
I wish I had the ability and the courage to set it all right.
I wish I knew how to help, what to say, what to do,
Because I understand how hard it is to ignore it...
You're really hurting, aren't you?
Dedicated to someone I care about.
