Kiefer is a red kangaroo from Down Under. His days in the Outback have given him a burly figure, best highlighted by his muscular arms and legs. He stands about six feet tall and sports a pouch that he can use to carry things, and occasionally give a small fur a lift. His muscular body is balanced by a long, thick tail which spends most of its time lying flat on the ground. He normally wears a tan vest lined with pockets, some of which have small tools and gizmos neatly hidden from view. He rarely wears pants, not really needing them and finding they just get in his way.
In contrast to his almost overbearing body, one can see when they look into his face that Kiefer is a nice guy. He has short, fuzzy red hair, which is sometimes covered by a handsome hat with an eagle's feather sticking out of it. His cheeks are quite fluffy, and he has a long, broad snout with a cute, little moist nose on the end. His eyes give most people a sense of warmth and curiosity, and his smile is said to be charming, friendly and almost playful.
Kiefer enjoys the company of his friends and tends to seek out highly social situations. He'll almost always go out of his way to help someone, whether that means showing them the ropes or lending a shoulder to cry on. He is a romantic at heart, always eager to meet people and make new friends. Kiefer tends to be a little vain at times, often more worried about how he looks or comes across to people than he should be. He has a funny streak in him and won't hesitate to tell a joke, even if nobody gets it. But he's also quite sensitive to others and fears intruding upon people's personal spaces.
This kangaroo enjoys sports, amusement parks (especially water parks), computers and technology, and will never turn down an opportunity to have a good discussion or debate about any of his favorite topics. He also plays the piano and occasionally engages in creative pursuits such as writing fiction and poetry.

Kiefer the Roo is what I used to consider my "personal furry". Kangaroos are one of my favorite animals, and this was the form I chose to start with in furry fandom. Since his creation on SPR Muck back in 1996, Kiefer has developed into a fairly complete representation of my personality - he is a reflection of the parts of my personality I want to express the most. However, Kiefer's primary form has become that of a skunk - I've found that I like skunks even more. As such, KieferSkunk is my primary character now.
Originally, Kiefer was a pretty emotional character. He had a dark history, which included a mate who'd been killed by a poacher, and he was often prone to getting into his emotions. Sometimes this would cause him to get so angsty that nobody wanted to be around him. Needless to say, this made Kiefer a rather depressing character. So I eventually scrapped his history and transformed Kiefer into a bouncier, toonier, more fun-loving roo - more like his predecessor, Joey McKangaroo. (See my About Me page for more info on Joey.) He's become more popular and more fun to be around since then, and he's more like the person I want to be.
Kiefer is not a shapeshifter per se, but he does have some alternative forms. He's most commonly found as a male skunk, and less often as a herm ferret. Ask him about his various forms - he'll be happy to show them off for you. Kiefer can be found on SPR, FurryMUCK and Tapestries. (Note: On Taps, there used to be another Kiefer, who ironically was also a kangaroo. The main difference between him and me, though, was that he was openly gay, while my Kiefer is not. :)
