Welcome to the FoxPlay Homepage! FoxPlay is one of my spare-time projects - I wrote it in Visual C++ and have been working on it off-and-on since the summer of 1996. This program is a multi-purpose Playlist organizer and frontend for Windows, and this is the place to get the latest information, news and releases on this project.

FoxPlay is a program for Windows that helps you organize your multimedia files into a single, easy-to-use Playlist, and to play your files at the click of a button. It supports virtually any type of file - You can configure it to work with many different programs and filetypes. And it sports the ability to play files like a jukebox - set up a specific order for your files, or let it run in repeat-free Random Play mode. New features in version 8.4 make FoxPlay an ideal tool for Internet DJs! And if you enjoy downloading files from the 'Net, the handy Auditioner will simplify the process of adding and filtering your incoming files into your Playlist.
Best of all, FoxPlay is Freeware! Feel free to share it with anyone you wish - even post it up on your site if you want, so long as the copyright notices stay intact. :) See the FoxPlay Help file for more information.
Virtually any modern Windows-based PC can run FoxPlay with no problems. However, here are the system requirements to date:
- An Intel- or AMD-based PC, 486 or up
- Windows 98 or newer
- Any sound card. For MIDIs, one with a decent wavetable is recommended.
- For MOD files (.MOD, .S3M, .IT, .XM, etc.), a MOD player such as MODPlug
- For MP3 files, an MP3 player such as WinAmp
- Other types of files require appropriate players. WinAmp is capable of playing many types of files - check and see if plugins exist for yours!
NOTE: My e-mail address has changed since the last time I updated the help file and Release Notes. I can now be contacted at kiefer (at) kieferskunk (dot) net (remove 'nospam' from the address if you click).
Like the logo at the top of the screen? Check out the rest of the images that Ben Bruin drew up for me for this project! Some of these were used in the program and the help file - others were just for fun. I never did come up with a proper name for this mascot, so his more-or-less official name is SoundFox - the name his artist gave him. I think you'll enjoy these. =)
Ralph E. Hayes, Jr. (aka Ben Bruin) is a talented artist and writer who's pretty well-known in the furry community. A while back, I was searching on Google for references to FoxPlay and stumbled across Ben's picture entitled 'foxplay.gif'. Turns out it was done for a children's book, but I immediately fell in love with the cute little fox in the pic!
So I asked him if I could use that image for my program. He declined, but instead offered to do some new pictures for me as a commission. In exchange, I offered to redesign his website. Before long, he surprised me with all thirteen of the SoundFox pictures shown above, along with several alternate versions. Thanks, Ben!
Be sure to check out Ben's folder on Yerf.com to see more of his stuff!
